As part of the Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship Program, you have free access to all eight courses in the Google Cybersecurity Career Certificate Program until December 31, 2025.
If you do not complete all eight required courses by the deadline, you will be marked as unsuccessful in the scholarship program. This may impact your eligibility for future scholarships and training opportunities offered by the Women CyberSecurity Society.
You can still access the courses through Coursera after the deadline, but you will need to pay for them as they will no longer be covered by the scholarship.
Yes. After December 31, 2025, any courses that have not been completed or enrolled in will no longer be free and will require a paid subscription through Coursera to receive your certificate.
Yes. Completion of all eight courses in the program is required to be recognized as having successfully completed the scholarship program.
You can enroll in any one of the eight courses in the program whenever you're ready. There's no need to complete them one at a time or in a specific order. You’re free to start and finish courses at your own pace and can switch between them whenever it’s convenient for you.
Yes, you can access the Coursera Google Professional Certificate Learner’s Guide to help you feel confident and prepared as you begin.
It covers everything from setting up your account on Coursera, progressing through the course content, and switching between your personal Coursera account and the WCS2 Scholarhsip Program.
No, the webinars are completely optional—think of them as extra support to help you succeed, not a requirement. There are other webinar options besides the one on June 5th. Click on the link to explore past and upcoming sessions, and choose one that fits your schedule. You may have to login to Zoom to view past and future events.
The Google Cybersecurity Career Certificate Program is an online course designed to help individuals, particularly those with no prior experience, start a career in cybersecurity. The Google Career Certificate in Cybersecurity is designed to equip women with essential skills for entry-level roles in cybersecurity - no prior experience or education required! The certificate provides hands-on training with tools, including Python, Linux, and SQL, as well as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and intrusion detection systems.
The program is designed to be flexible and is hosted 100% online, allowing participants to complete the certificate in a 24/7 environment and in under six months at their own pace.
Deadline: Monday, April 30, 2025
Program Start Date: Rolling admission upon acceptance
Location: Remote with 24/7 access to Coursera's learning environment
Program Duration: Flexible – complete in under 6 months (an estimated 10 hours per week)
