Your volunteer work is great hands-on experience that you can use to add to your LinkedIn profile and resume. After you've volunteered with us for at least 6 months, we'll provide a written letter of recommendation and a verified certificate detailing your responsibilities and duties.
The non-profit Women CyberSecurity Society (‘Society’) serves a growing number of women and underrepresented groups who are interested in a cybersecurity career. Since April 2018, the society has provided support through programs and services with a focus on customized services throughout the lifecycle of a people’s career. We understand the needs of a recent graduate or someone transitioning to a career is cybersecurity is much different than someone whose been in the industry for 5 or more years and is seeking career advancement or other type of support.
The board is comprised of women who work in the industry, have long tenures across all domains and understand the needs of this specialized community. Additional supports include an advisory committee and volunteers who work with us to meet the needs of those we serve.
Our services include online subscription-based membership that offers access to three 24/7 learning platforms for the beginner, intermediate and advanced learners. Additionally, we offer support through community access on Slack, one-to-one mentoring, group mentoring, peer-mentoring, workshops and events, hands-on training, prizes, scholarships, the FAST Awards and more!
Our headquarters are in Vancouver, BC, Canada however, we operate on a global scale and serve members from over 40 countries around the globe.
Our current volunteer needs include; Website Developer, Grant Writer, Social Media & Marketing Director, Coaching , Business Development, and Events Management.
